Originally from Hong Kong, I have lived for 8 years as a foreigner in Germany and have traveled to more than 25 other countries. My point in telling you this is that I have come to appreciate the value of standing out. Despite the challenges (language and otherwise), I have managed, through trial and error, to climb my way up the corporate ladder and make a new home in this country. Trust me, knowing how to stand out and put your best foot forward can even turn rejection into opportunities. This is how I get my thesis published in a journal as well as getting a job offer even after I had been rejected before. As a former project manager, I am equipped with the skills to work with a wide variety of people from different backgrounds.
